La caries rampante en cuatro condiciones para la identificación de personas.

Resumen
La caries rampante son múltiples lesiones cariosas con avance rápido en dientes anteriores y posteriores. En adultos se presenta en cuatro condiciones: dependencia a metanfetamina (DMET), dependencia a opioides (DOPI), terapia de radiación de cabeza y cuello (TRCC), y el síndrome de Sjögren (SSJO). Mediante una revisión sistemática se distinguen y comparan factores etiológicos, signos dentales y signos físicos presentes en las cuatro condiciones con el objetivo de identificar criterios de individualización útiles que minimicen el universo de búsqueda durante el proceso de identificación de personas. Para ello, se realizó una indagación documental de diferentes fuentes, las cuales fueron recuperadas bajo criterios establecidos y evaluadas de manera descriptiva a través de un análisis textual. Se observó que los factores etiológicos en DMET y DOPI son la deficiencia en hábitos de higiene y el consumo reiterado de alimentos con alto contenido en azúcares; en TRCC y SSJO la hiposalivación permanente. Por otro lado, los signos dentales identificados en DMET y DOPI son raíces dentarias y placas dentales retenidas; en la TRCC líneas longitudinales y afecciones en el esmalte y cambios de coloración en la corona dentaria, y como signos físicos se distiguió que DMET y DOPI existe presencia de lesiones cutáneas por inyecciones e infecciones bacterianas, exclusivamente para la dependencia a opioides desmineralización de huesos; en el SSJO sequedad de piel y ojos, y aumento de tamaño de las glándulas salivales y obstrucción del conducto parotídeo. Estos hallazgos brindan elementos individualizantes de utilidad en el proceso de identificación de personas.
